About Ecowood
EcoWoods is an initiative that began 10 years ago when we sought to salvage wood from storm-damaged, dead or hazardous urban trees. Our mission at EcoWoods has been to create unique furniture, hand built with locally reclaimed wood by our arborists, to ensure that these extraordinary trees do not go to waste.
In Puerto Rico we reclaim wood from trees such as Eucalyptus, Pine, Melaleuca, Pterocarpus, Algarrobo, Mahogany, Maria, Saman, Almendro, Ausubo, Albicia, Teak, Reina de las Flores, etc. Our reclaimed wood slabs highlight the beauty of these trees while providing a sustainable option compared to conventionally sourced wood.
SUSTAINABLY SOURCED WOOD
EcoWood pieces are handcrafted in our workshop in Caguas, Puerto Rico, using locally reclaimed wood from our surroundings. When trees need to be removed due to danger or deterioration of their health, we do not dispose of them in landfills, we salvage and transport the logs to our sawmill to process them into wooden boards.
